Andee Rudloff has been nominated as a Woman of Achievement in the Cultural Arts for the Bowling Green/Warren County, KY 2006 Women of Achievement Awards. This annual award is voted on by the community and the previous winners of the award. The awards are presented by the Human Rights Commission and the city of Bowling Green, KY.
The reception and awards night will be Thursday, March 30th from 6pm until 8pm at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Andee and Bellewood awarded Learn and Serve Grant
I am so very happy to announce that the Bellewood Home for Children and Andee Rudloff were awarded a Learn and Serve Grant from Bowling Green(KY)'s Community Education. The Learn and Serve grant money will go towards a special production based on the life of Rosa Parks. The money will help purchase needed art supplies, materials for a set design, props and costumes. We will create special music mixes via the computer and burn copies onto special CDs for distribution. We will also receive help on songs and dance movements from community member Felicia Bland.
The performance is currently being booked at schools and after school programs. To book this performance, please contact Andee Rudloff.

Klaus Kallenberger resides in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and has been a designer most of his life. Whether teaching design at the university level or completing his next quilt, his work exudes an awareness of the systems of balance, contrasting colors, pattern, texture and shape.
Klaus recalls, "The quilt I slept with for many years became so worn it became necessary to replace it. As I loved this quilt very much, I opted to design and sew a new cover for it. Sewing this quilt got me interested in making more. Two years later, I have designed and made 16 quilts with number 17 under construction.
I am still sleeping each night with my old quilt, but now under a new cover, so to speak."

Mary Spellings is a west Tennessee native and currently residing in Mercer, Tennessee. She received her BA in art from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She is known for her limited edition prints of west Tennessee landmarks. In her more than 30 years of painting, Mary's focus has been watercolor and pastel. She is a member of the Germantown Art League, the Kentucky Watercolor Society, the Jackson Art Association, and a signature member of the Tennessee Watercolor Society.
Mary credits a strong connection to family, friends, faith and community filling her soul with the love of color, shape, light, music and life. "I paint a person's character - relationships between people and animals and places. I want to encourage people to share their lives and cherish each precious moment, for each of us are only ripples in the water of time."

Keith Harmon busily works in his Marathon Village studio in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. After receiving his BFA from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro in 1995, Keith quickly began showing art in restaurants and exhibit spaces. Keith is one of the founding members of Plowhaus Co-Operative and actively exhibits with the Untitled artist group. His work is not limited to painting, Keith also creates ceramics, furniture and stained glass.
"The work in this exhibit is an expression of Nashville through its people." explains Keith. "This is the Nashville I experience through the language of painting. Metaphorically speaking, I take ownership, far beyond that of a proprietor, of the places I frequent - as do others in the community. It might be a familiar face at bar, restaurant, music venue, coffee shop or any attraction to a specific place that makes Nashville home. Nashville is a wonderful place to be."

Joe Allen is a Nashville native who specializes in wilderness photography. Inspired by an experience in his childhood when his pocket camera simply did not adequately capture the magnificence in nature, he resolved to return to the same spot with equipment and knowledge to get it right.
Joe states that, "The challenge with landscape photography is to move beyond documentation. In my view, undisturbed nature is the most sacred of all places. Like the range of human emotions, so too is the range of textures, colors and details in nature. I hope my images can deepen the viewer's appreciation for our vital connection to nature."

Murals for Clark Distribution
Andee is working with George Clark of Clark Distribution on murals for Chuck Evans' new location on Veterans Memorial Highway off Morgantown Road in Bowling Green, KY.

Gulf Coast Relief for Artists
Andee Rudloff and Stacey Irvin of ChicNnomad Designs are still offering their New Orleans Poster Prints for $25.00. All money raised through the sales of the posters goes to the Gulf Coast Artist Relief Fund set up through the Southern Arts Federation.

About the Fund
The Southern Arts Federation (SAF), a regional non-profit supporting and promoting the arts in the South since 1975, established the Emergency Relief Fund in early September following the destruction reported as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The idea of the fund is to provide assistance to artists and arts organizations along the Gulf Coast who have been affected. Many artists have lost their homes, work spaces, studios, etc. Performance artists are out of work and arts organizations have suffered greatly because of destruction of resources.
The key element in this relief effort is the idea that 100% of the monies raised will go directly to the state arts agencies of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, who are in a position to make decisions on how best to provide assistance in their respective states. Donations are tax-deductible and may be made by check or credit card. Donations can be designated either for general emergency relief fund or other, meaning that the donation can be earmarked for a specific organization or art genre. The first disbursements from the fund were made to the three states mentioned above in mid-October. Further disbursements will be made as more donations are received.

Andee is the NEW Arts at the Airport Curator at the Nashville International Airport in Nashville, TN.
Created in 1988 by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, Arts at the Airport is an ever-growing, ever-changing showcase of cultural diversity and creative talent in Tennessee. The terminal and surrounding facilities at Nashville International Airport were designed to incorporate rotating public art exhibits and permanent acquisitions. The award-winning Arts at the Airport program selects and presents works by local, regional, and national artists for the enjoyment and enrichment of Nashville International Airport's passengers and visitors.
In addition, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority offices house a large collection of original works. The collection includes 46 pieces in various styles and mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and mixed mediums on paper. The majority of works are by contemporary Tennessee artists, including some of the state's most acclaimed creators.

Country Peddler Youth Competition Juror
Andee Rudloff is one of the honorary judges for the Country Peddler's Youth Ad Design Competition this year. The judging will take place Thursday, November 10th.
This youth design competition is the only design competition in the region. Andee is happy to support the efforts of the youth designers and the Country Peddler.

Emergency Fund for Artists
The Southern Arts Federation set up an Emergency Fund for displaced Gulf Coast artists following the Katrina disaster, and Andee has been raising money for the fund since it began.
Thus far, Andee and her generous supporters have sent in over $1,200.00 to the fund.
This amount is continuing to grow, as Andee still has special, limited edition Katrina Relief posters available for $25.00!
All proceeds benefit displaced artists.

Kaleidoscope
Many people have been asking me if I am working for the Kaleidoscope program in Bowling Green. While my name still appears on the Kaleidoscope website and other printed materials, I am no longer with the program.
We were not able to come to an agreement on what my job responsibilties would be and I decided that it would be best for me to focus on my already busy schedule. Before exiting from the program, I was able to host Jen Foster at Spencer's Coffee House for an exciting workshop in songwriting. I was able to recommend Christopher Cherry and Rachel Clark for positions with Kaleidoscope. Last, but not least, I was able to help get information about leading Saturday workshops to many artists in the community.
Kaleidoscope is a Youth Development program currently offering arts programming. However, if the attendees decide arts are not what they have interest in, then the program could evolve into a sports program as suggested by Katrina Phelps with Kaleidoscope.
I am encouraged to see the attention focused on activities for youth in Bowling Green, KY, and hope many more groups like Kaleidoscope will evolve.

Join the Moped Army!!!
I am really loving my mode of transportation these days via my moped scooter. I want to encourage others to ride with me and take advantage of the GREAT gas mileage and FUN! As any good American would be doing their part to save on gas right now...right??!!
I will be organizing some events and fundraisers...and of course, there is always a fair share of "swag" to be given away.

Katrina Efforts-Limited Edition Poster
It is an absolute nightmare.
A way to spread art and fundraising for me is through the creation of some small paintings and a poster. The small paintings have SOLD OUT, but posters are still available for $25.
I would like the money to benefit artists from the affected areas, so I am supporting the Southern Arts Federation's Emergency Relief Fund.
If you don't want to buy a poster, choose to help in your own way, please.
