Car Part Art Workshop featuring painted hubcaps facilitated by artist, educator and Car Part Art curator Andee Rudloff.  The purpose of the Car Part Art exhibition is to encourage the repurposing of car parts into art!

Participants will create one of a kind painted hubcaps to be featured in the National Corvette Museum exhibit, Car Part Art running September 18, 2015-January 8, 2016.  Whimsical creativity meets thrifty pragmatism in a fun way to be green.

MetroArts Thrive-funded Cumberland View Community Mural with Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary

In, April 2015, artist Andee Rudloff facilitated a mural project that took several months and culminated in a legacy piece within the MDHA community of Cumberland View in Nashville, TN. Andee's niece, Halle Rudloff, completed the video of MetroArts Thrive-funded Cumberland View Community Mural with Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary, please check out the video HERE.

Gearing up for Summer 2015

So many good things to share about the upcoming summer of art and happenings. Yesterday, I was part of a unique furniture show at the Idea Hatchery, curated by Julie Sola and nearly sold out everything I had to share....Thank you!

I will be the artist-in-residence at Harpeth Hall this week in Nashville, TN, working with several educators and many students on a 20ft by 5ft mural.  I will prepare the Final Report for the Cumberland View Community Mural with Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary supported in part by Thrive funds from #artsnashville MetroArts...and happy to report the fees covered expenses thankfully!

Next week I will be presenting artists to the Tanne Foundation in New Hampshire and hope to see some artists in the region receive much needed support to continue their important work.

I look forward to spending the summer teaching, exhibiting, painting and serving as a juror for a few professional art centers and exhibitions balanced with lots of stand-up paddleboarding. Updates to come!

2015 Ky Derby champion American Pharoah bow tie paintings are ready! There are ONLY 5...make that 3 now. The paintings are 5x5x1 and each one is unique ($45 each) + shipping if needed.

Born on Groundhog Day in 2012, American Pharoah is a bay rig with a short tail and a faint star on his forehead with no other white markings. He was bred in Kentucky at Zayat Stables (hence the Z on the silks). American Pharoah figures to be a heavy favorite in the second jewel of the Triple Crown.

One year ago I was transitioning from art administrator back to independent artist/curator/consultant...and as you might have guessed, I feel like I made a pretty good decision.

Nashville Gallery Crawl at Ground Floor Gallery + Studios...watch the mural coming together!

Andee facilitated a mural at Ground Floor Gallery + Studios during the Nashville Gallery Crawl on Saturday, March 7th, 2015. Gallery owner Janet Yanez and artists in the studio submitted ideas and words creating the iconic images within the mural design. The mural is available for exhibition and is for sale. MTSU film student Beth Casey created a film of the making of the mural. Check it out here.

2015 gets off to a great start!

So far this year has been the most exciting YET!

Andee is excited to be the artist-in-residence at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN, March 9-13, 2015.  There will be a reception and mural unveiling Friday, March 13 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the public is invited.

Andee will also be a featured artist at Montgomery Bell Academy's Endada. Dead Poets Society, the 1989 motion picture that featured Robin Williams, depicts a school patterned after Montgomery Bell Academy, although events in the movie were fictional. Thomas Schulman, who graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 1968, wrote the movie's screenplay. Robin Williams portrayed a character based on Sam Pickering, one of Schulman's teachers during his MBA education.

Radiant Life: works by Stacey Irvin & Andee Rudloff, at The Browsing Room at the Downtown Presbyterian Church

The Browsing Room at the Downtown Presbyterian Church presents Radiant Life an exhibition of two artists interpreting the meaning of water through photography and mixed media works from November 1 through December 30, 2014. Stacey will exhibit photographs from some of the world’s most unique neighborhoods. Andee will exhibit new works assembled on varied surfaces, including a 12 foot stand-up paddleboard, expressing her reflections and experiences. 

Andee Rudloff is a professional artist, consultant and educator. She recently served as the Education and Visual Art Director, successfully designing and launching all education, engagement and visual art programming for the newly opened Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) in Bowling Green, KY. In 2013, the Kentucky Art Education Association named Rudloff Museum Educator of the Year.  She is on the board of trustees for the Tanne Foundation, board of directors for the Kentucky Arts Council and works consistently with non-profits to improve professional opportunities for artists and art educators. Stacey Irvin is an award-winning world and humanitarian photographer, freelance graphic designer and web developer based in Nashville, TN. Fall 2014...the best yet!

I'm excited to confirm I will be working with Safe Haven Family Shelter, their friends at HCA and residents to create an interactive mural art experience in late October 2014. The mural will bring to life a space around the one-year-old building in downtown Nashville and will be based on what Safe Haven means to the community!

I have a few proposals out for other opportunities, so please keep your fingers crossed for me on those projects...of which, I WOULD LOVE to do ALL of them!

I have launched a GoFundMe campaign to build a unique artist residency with two tiny homes.  I could really use your support to make this dream a reality.  Visit my campaign here.

ChicNhair: Hubcaps & Helmets at the University School of Nashville will close on October 10th.  Please go buy and grab your favorite before it is gone!  Like Edie Maney who bought a set of handle bars with a hand-crafted horn which she plans to use as a dinner bell!

I'm also excited to be working with GoodJobPerks and Qualifacts on some creative professional development that will culminate in 3 pieces being permanently installed within the company.

My art has been included in the exhibition titled Second Time Around, Hubcap As Art, and it continues at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley until March 1, 2015.  More about the exhibition here.

Thanks to Mail Art curator Jason Brown, my work is now part of the Vanderbilt Library Special Collections.

ChicNhair: Hubcaps and Helmets September 8-October 10, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 6, 2014)—The University School of Nashville (USN) presentsChicNhair: Hubcaps and Helmets, an exhibition of community art celebrating alternative transportation and collaboration will be on display in USN’s gallery from September 8 through October 10, 2014. Andee will exhibit repurposed hubcaps and artist designed bicycle helmets celebrating Nashville’s unique neighborhoods. Andee truly believes in the value of creative voice and expressing ideas on varied surfaces—the exhibition reception will feature the unveiling of a collaborative mural with the students at USN, boom box bicycles created by Vanderbilt University Professor Mark Hosford and his students, Oasis Bike Workshop, as well as prints from Green Fleet’s Bicycle Bus-a project Andee facilitated with Green Fleet and the Arts and Business Council of Nashville. 

Andee Rudloff: Hubcaps and Helmets will feature over 40 new works by Andee Rudloff and a 32 foot by 8 foot mural with the students at USN among other items. Andee will work with the teachers and students at USN during the first week of the exhibition to create the mural.  The completed mural will be unveiled at the reception on Friday, September 12th.  Oasis Bike Workshop's Mobile Bike Shop can be toured at the reception. Vanderbilt University Professor Mark Hosford’s boom box bicycles will perform at 6:00 p.m. at the reception. More about the boom box bikes can be found here.

The Nashville Arts Magazine wrote, “Rudloff believes that we can’t take the art with us once we are gone, so it is important to give away ownership to the greater populace. As metro councilman Peter Westerholm states, Andee brings an unabashed enthusiasm . . . that leads not only to inspiring a vision toward the end result but makes recruits of unintentional bystanders, making us all stakeholders and advocates. Rudloff has the power to spark ideas and creativity in all of us!”

Celebrate Flag Day on Saturday, June 14th

In Waubeka, Wisconsin, in 1885 Bernard John Cigrand a nineteen year old school teacher in a one room school placed a 10” 38 star flag in an inkwell and had his students write essays on what the flag meant to them. He called June 14th the flag’s birthday. Stony Hill School is now a historical site. From that day on Bernard J. Cigrand dedicated himself to inspire not only his students but also all Americans in the real meaning and majesty of our flag.

New Adventures!

With much consideration, I have resigned as the Education & Visual Arts Director of the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC). I want to thank south central Kentucky for the wonderful opportunity to serve the community. I will take many positive memories with me.  I look forward to serving the community in the future and will always call Kentucky my home.
