I am organizing a forum to discuss Public Art and its purpose in Kentucky and Tennessee. The forum will also include a discussion concerning the most efficient Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) requirements and formats. Please let me know of your interest in attending or participating in this upcoming forum.
"Public art is a mirror that reflects the local environment, cultural values, and artistic vitality of the community in which it exists. At its best, public art is more than just art installed in public places. It is a community-based process of dialogue, involvement, and participation. Public art enhances the quality of life for citizens by encouraging a heightened sense of place, enhancing a community's prestige, and enlivening the visual quality of the built environment. Successful public art is site-specific and responds to the concept of place-making."

Beshear for KY-Vote TODAY!
Kentucky...today is the day to VOTE for the future and Steve Beshear/Dan Mongiardo!!!
As an artist, I have never had more fun participating in a campaign. I offered to travel the Commonwealth to paint for Beshear and it was great to see and talk to people. I enjoyed feeling just a portion of the positive feedback Beshear is getting!
Please take the time to vote Tuesday, November 6th!
Thanks for the memories Kentucky!

During the 2007 Tomato Art Fest, Andee (with help from people in the community) created to a new mural behind the post office on Woodland Street in Nashville, TN. The mural depicts people in the community as tomato-like characters all hanging out in the alley. The mural has been credited for decreasing crime, theft and littering in the alley.

Cheekwood's Scarecrows!
Andee worked with Don Evans and the Little Marrowbone Repair Corporation to complete Kakashi Jorou...a Geisha Scarecrow for the Scarecrows! at Cheekwood Art & Gardens in Nashville, TN.
SCARECROWS!
September 29 - November 4
www.cheekwood.org
Get ready for some good old-fashioned fall fun at Cheekwood! Scarecrows will showcase dozens of fabulous, weird, funny, and traditional scarecrows lurking along the Garden paths.
For the Birds
Hungry birds have always been a problem for farmers. Birds, such as crows, sometimes ate so much corn or wheat that farmers did not have enough food to last through the winter. So, for more than 3,000 years, farmers have been making scarecrows. As long as birds are hungry, farmers will still look for ways to SCARECROWS!
While we know our straw-filled friends as scarecrows, the protective characters have many different names. In Britain, they are called mommets, tattie bogies and hodmedods. Other places around the world scarecrows are known as jack-of-straws, scarebirds, and shoy-hoys.
Scarecrow Stories
(or Stories of Scarecrow, which do you like better)
The scarecrow is one of the most familiar figures of the rural landscape not only in the United States but throughout the world. His ragged figure has been recorded in rural history for centuries. We think of scarecrows as human-like figures stuffed with straw, but farmers have invented many different "scarecrows" to protect their crops over the years.
The first scarecrows in recorded history were placed along the Nile River to protect wheat fields from flocks of quail. Egyptian farmers covered wooden frames with fishing nets. The farmers hid in the fields and scared the quail into the nets.
Japanese farmers also began making scarecrows to protect their rice fields. The farmers hung old rags, meat, and fish bones from bamboo poles in their fields and then set them on fire. The smell was so bad that birds, and all other living creatures, stayed far away from the crops. The Japanese farmers called their scarecrows kakashis, which literally means something that smells bad.
In Medieval Britain, their scarecrows weren't made from wood or bamboo, but were live boys and girls. Known as bird scarers or bird shooers, they patrolled wheat fields carrying bags of stones. If crows landed in the fields, they would chase them off by waving their arms and throwing the stones.

Connect 12 opens Sept.1
Featured in the Nashville Scene's Critic's Picks:
CONNECT 12 This exhibit, curated by Ben Vitualla, features the diverse works of 12 of Nashville's longtime arts warriors. The goal of the exhibit is to educate the viewer about the history and continued growth of our local arts community. Painter Andee Rudloff has exhibited with Untitled Artists and Plowhaus Artists' Cooperative, in addition to being involved with the successful Arts in the Airport program. Her dreamy landscapes are meant to reflect a sense of memory. Untitled's husband-and-wife teams are also included in the September exhibit. Alesandra Bellos is "giving away her dreams" in a performance art piece at the opening reception. Her husband, Rick Bradley, is doing an interactive piece featuring monitors showing repeated imagery that explores the idea of machines expressing emotions. Eric Denton will exhibit his quirky photographs in the show alongside wife Tiffany Denton's fiber collages. Audience participation is encouraged in three installations and one performance art piece. With the majority of Art at the Arcade spaces having stellar shows opening this month and the McKay Otto/Monica Cook show at TAG, downtown is the place to be this Saturday night. Opening reception 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 1 at Dangenart Gallery; runs through Sept. 28.

Beshear/Mongiardo on your barn?
This is an exciting time for Kentucky, as we finally have a candidate for Governor that has IDEAS and a vision for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Steve Beshear is from Kentucky and remembers when Kentucky was a vacation destination for millions each year. Beshear wants to take Kentucky back to a place to live and visit...by TAKING CARE OF OUR OWN.
I so strongly believe in this candidate, that I am ready to paint the logo above on any barn facing a highway, byway or interstate across Kentucky.
Please email me and let me know where your barn is...and I will schedule a time to come and paint it. With many barns already lined up, I recommend you contact me ASAP. No barns will be painted after November 1st.
Thank you and do what you can to support Beshear/Mongiardo!!!

Act Like a GRRRL!
Andee facilitated a collaborative painting project with the teen artists involved in "Act Like a GRRRL." The murals will be displayed during the final performances on June 28th and June 29th.
"Act Like a GRRRL is all about teenage girls finding their voices -- through writing, dancing, performance. This year, I want to add a visual art component... so, I was wondering if Andee would come and talk to them about what she does and then maybe lead them through an exercise where they get to paint a little -- finding their "voice" on the canvas."
-Vali Forrester
The girls spent hours discussing, drawing and painting in order to create 3 unique and incredible murals.
Come support Director Vali Forrester and the multi-talented teen artists on Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th at Belmont University.

Beshear for Governor!
Steve Beshear should be the next Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and Andee Rudloff and other artists choose to support Beshear/Mongiardo in their effort to lead the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Here is a quote from Steve's Change for Kentucky Endorsement Questionnaire:
Imagine Kentucky ten years from now. What do you hope you will see?
"Ten years from now, I see a Kentucky where every child is receiving an education which will prepare them for the jobs of the future - where every person has access to affordable health care - where good jobs with good benefits are available to all - in short, when every man, woman, boy and girl have the opportunity to realize the American Dream. I see a Kentucky which is more tolerant of differences and which accomplishes all of these goals while protecting and preserving the environment for future generations."

Cheekwood announces Summer designs
Cheekwood announces designs for summer exhibition
Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art recently selected ten designs for its seventh annual 2007 summer exhibition: "Once Upon a Garden.''
Opening May 26 and running through September 9, "Once Upon a Garden'' focuses on the magical world of classic children's stories with "storybook settings" in the landscape at Cheekwood.
"The originality and adventurous spirit of this year's designs are amazing," said Jack Becker, president/CEO of Cheekwood. "Our goal is for families to come to Cheekwood to enjoy themselves through discovery and exploration."
Previous exhibitions have included Playhouses and Forts, Terrific Treehouses, and most recently, Birdhouse Bonanza. This year's designers include:
-Luke Tidwell and Barclay Dwight of Nashville for "Hansel and Gretel,'' a contemporary interpretation of the candy house the witch used to lure Hansel and Gretel into danger.
Children will be able to slide the panels and create the image and house of their desires.
-The owners of the Shops at the Loveless, Shimai Pottery, Curious Heart Emporium, Trace Bikes and Ruthie Cherry Fine Art in Nashville, for "Alice in Wonderland,'' a wonderland for a garden tea party and croquet.
-Annie Freeman, Elizabeth Garner, Ron Ames, Elder Jones, Michelle Webber, Alan Le Quire, Jammie Williams, Elaine Wood, Mervyn Enguidanos, Bob Scarlatta, and Andee Rudloff of Nashville for "The Frog Prince,'' a dazzling giant crown that children can enter and read the magical story of transformation that comes from confronting our fears and fulfilling our promises.
-Brian Parker and Scott Gubala of Nashville for "Wind in the Willows,'' featuring "pop-up book" inspired scenes gathered from moments in Kenneth Grahame's enchanting tale.
-Sandy Zeigler of Nashville for "Goldilocks and the Three Bears,'' a fantasy for children, a garden folly for adults.
-Adrienne Outlaw, Alicia Beach, Sher Fick, Lisa Bachman, Matthew Rogers, Amanda Crawford, Selena Long and Jessica Cantrell of Nashville for "Peter Rabbit,'' inviting children of all ages to experience Peter's fantastical journey by exploring above ground, child-size vegetable garden filled with colorful, woven-wire broccoli, carrots, asparagus and more.
-Babs Freeman, Harriet McHenry, and Susan Ward for "Jack and the Beanstalk,'' where a castle is suspended in the tree with a beanstalk going from Jack's House to the castle and children will be able to plant their own "magic beans" in Jack's house.
-Dryden Abernathy Architecture Design (DA|AD) including Nick Dryden, John Abernathy, James Bagwell, Kim Martin, Brad Northcutt, Crispin Mathias-Fisher and Jacklyn Abernathy for "The Secret Garden,'' an assemblage of garden delights offering a different perspective of what can be perceived as a garden.
-Gresham Smith and Partners: Healthcare Studio Team: Beryl Alder, Vanessa Paz, Bryan Tuttle, David Zegley, Adam Smith, Jerry Culp, Lara Eley and Aron Thompson for "Swiss Family Robinson,'' a conceptual tree house with platforms that represent climactic events in the book.
-Susan Jane Hall, Steve Drake, and Luke Tidwell of Nashville for "Anansi,'' depicting Anansi, a magical spider character from African mythology, as he presents the moon to Nyame, the sky God.
Cheekwood inspires and educates by making art, horticulture and nature accessible to a diverse community.

Dovie's makes our day
Yesterday, my dad hurt his back. A couple of his clients thought they would cheer him up by bringing him the best burgers in Kentucky...fresh DOVIE's...and a T-shirt to boot! Although I am vegetarian, I can say from my younger years that this is the best burger in America. My dad shared the bag-o-burgers with me and others...I shared my burgers with a friend who has spent time on a Montana ranch, and she said...they were really ggrrrreat!
Dovie's located in Tompkinsville, Kentucky has welcomed people inside for over 50 years. The Moore family founded Dovie's in 1940 and keeps the restaurant true to it's history with a menu that has the original Dovie's burger and a few other tasty surprises. Deep-frying and a secret sauce is the specialty at Dovie's. Dedicated locals have made this restaurant almost legendary.

Patrick Fleming remembered
Last autumn, I lost my artist soulmate, Patrick. At his Memorial in NYC we gathered at his home, shared stories, with blurry eyes - we all wished we were dreaming and would wake up to see his bright, shining smile. As the sun came down on the day, we all gathered by the river...by him...to thank him for being part of our lives. Each of us had a fresh rose to float down the windy river...and the river and the wind blew them right back to us...and he let us know he was right there, he was there that day. Finally, we lit a small urn ablaze that was full of messages and wishes for Patrick and it soared and sparked. So many tears...so so so many tears.
An artist, a dear sweet man and my friend...Lawrence Patrick Fleming.
I will miss him.

Gilda's Club - Nashville
Gilda's Club of Nashville has been a wonderful support to me and my family over the past few months. To thank the club, and honor my brave mother, I have decided to donate Pearl Sun (pictured above) to their permanent collection. I am also excited to be donating to their fundraiser which will be held in June of 2007.
Gilda's Club Nashville is an affiliate of Gilda's Club Worldwide and opened its doors on August 3, 1998. Our purpose is to offer to our members lectures, workshops, classes, support groups and social activities in a non-residential, homelike setting. Free of charge to everyone, Gilda's Club Nashville provides a gathering place where people with cancer and their families and friends can join with others to actively involve themselves in building social and emotional support as a supplement to regular medical care.
If you have cancer or have a friend or loved one who does, Gilda's Club Nashville is here for all of you.
About Gilda Radner:
When comedian Gilda Radner was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1986 she quickly realized the importance of emotional and social support when dealing with her cancer. After attending a wellness community in California, Gilda called for such places of participation, education, hope and friendship to be made available to men, women and children with any type of cancer and their families and friends. Upon her death in May of 1989 her husband, Gene Wilder, and Joanna Bull (Gilda's psychotherapist) founded the flagship Gilda's Club at 195 West Houston in New York City. There are currently fifteen affiliates open and another fifteen in various stages of development.

Curator's statement:
Andee Rudloff's modern depictions of mountains, hills, pastures and clouds are expressively characterized by her use of color and composition.
Her passion for painting, and the majestic flow of nature, are evident in the bold and unconstrained choice of bright colors. Rudloff's paintings carry the spirit of the place where she paints, also reminding us of a strong sense of vitality; this is especially true of her pictures depicting clouds bursting, prismatic skies and channels of water.
The artist explains, "When creating the works for this exhibition, I was influenced by the feeling of flight and the perplexity of life. As I fly in an aircraft, I am constantly in search of the horizon line. As I go through life, I am also searching for the "horizon line," as I deal with things that are out of my control. In this series of works, I investigate my emotions, feelings and happenings within each landscape while allowing the unpredictability of life to play a role."
In recent years, Rudloff has visited places all over the US and far western China. She has had solo and group exhibitions and participated in several cultural and academic exchanges. Her work can be found in corporate collections, private collections as well as exhibitions throughout the US, Great Britain and Japan.
She also serves as the Curator of the well-known Arts at the Airport program at Nashville International Airport. Rudloff decisively leads the program while ushering through exciting changes coming with the new multi-million dollar terminal renovation.

The Quiet World-photography by Stacey Irvin
ARTIST'S RECEPTION: Saturday, February 3, from 6-8 p.m. FREE and open to the public.
The Parthenon's East Gallery will exhibit the work of Nashville photographer Stacey Irvin from February 3-April 14, 2007. In this exhibit, Irvin explores the people and landscapes of two seemingly different places: Beaverhead County, Montana, and the Xinjiang Province in Northwestern China. Rather than emphasizing cultural differences, Irvin's photographs underscore the similarities that make us all human. Susan Shockley, Curator, notes that "in the face of devastating worldwide news about our earth's inhabitants, Irvin captures a contentment about her subjects, even as they face difficult living conditions. That is her strength. She finds something deeper in her photographs than what we see on the nightly news."
Irvin is an award-winning photographer and graphic designer living in Nashville, Tennessee. She has traveled worldwide in pursuit of new experiences, recording them with her camera. In 1999, after graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University, she received the prestigious Margaret Stonewall Wooldridge Hamblet Award from Vanderbilt's Fine Arts Department. With funds from the Hamblet award, Irvin embarked on a four-month photographic journey through parts of Asia, and returned to Northwestern China five years later. In 2003 she spent a month at the family-owned and -run cattle ranch in Southwestern Montana.
Alterscape
I wanted to express my respect and admiration to the The Basement Gallery in Knowville, TN, for Alterscape. I also respect the choices of Curator T. Michael Martin. The exhibition was intensely exciting and full of excellent images. If there is not a catalog of this show, there should be. (Maybe I will try to work to help put something together.)
I would also love to see this exhibition travel to other locations...email the gallery!
Heck...a review may follow.

A & L's Holiday Hot Dog and Art Stand
When my sister Leslie and I were kids, we use to set up our own hot dog stand and call it A & L's Hot Dog Stand. I think my mom got a kick out of giving us multiple packages of hot dogs to boil and grill...it kept us busy for a while. Funny thing is, we were always selective about who actually got to eat our hot dogs and when. To celebrate the hot dog stand and my mom this season, I have created HOT DOG paintings with 50% of the proceeds going to American Cancer Society.
These paintings portray different types of dogs wearing everything from "footie-PJs" to "Ma in her kerchief." Contact me for viewings and appointments.
Celebrate the season and help me in finding a cure!

Andee's Artwork on Book Cover
Making Lesbians Visible in the Substance Use Field
Edited by Elizabeth Ettore, PhD, BA
This book presents a "lesbian sensitive" perspective to addiction through the counselors and therapists, community nurses, healthcare workers at treatment and rehabilitation centers, and students in psychology, sociology and nursing fields. Through critical social research paradigms, the book provides a better understanding of the misjudged and misunderstood women who have lived in society's shadows. This book transforms obsolete ideas, beliefs and practices, offering a perspective that has been missing from the field of substance abuse.

Plowhaus is FIVE years old!
"IT's PLOWRAGEOUS"
our 5th Anniversary Show Party Event, celebrating artists the same night as ARTRAGEOUS
Saturday - November 11th 2006 7pm - 11pm
with live music by Carrie Mills and East Nashville Cat House Blues and Good Time Boogie Band
Five years later...against all odds, we are still here!! To celebrate the occasion all of the alumni and present artists have been asked to put one piece on display for one weekend. This show will honor the artists that kept the Plowhaus going, for without them there wouldn't have been an artist co-op.
In light of the tragedy of 9-11, three artists stood outside a small store front on S. 17th St. in East Nashville, and made a promise to each other and themselves that they would stay close to home and work with local artists to start a grass roots artists' co-op, run and operated by local artists. From that day Plowhaus started to grow and it keeps growing. We started with a handful of artists, many of them have gone on to great success as Painters, Printmakers, Fabric Artists, Photographers, and Musicians!
Now Plowhaus has gained its 501(c)3 (non-profit) status, has over 80 members and occupies a 2000 sq. ft of space that they allow other artist groups to use such as: Untitled, SNAP, and The Plate Tone Printmakers.
It has been said by many " it's the coolest art space in town."
This Event is to show our community how grateful we are for their support over the years and to congratulate ourselves for the hard work we have done and continue to do in order to keep Plowhaus your local artists' coop going. There are over 100 artists in this show, including a lot of the original members:
J.D. Wilkes, Lesley Paterson-Marx, Franne Lee, Stacey Irvin, Bryce McCloud, Julie Sola, Eric England, Lynn Taylor, Keith Harmon, Sheila B., Annie Friedman, Joe Hardwick, Erika Wollam-Nichols, Lain York, Brittany Conners, Robert Vore, Joni Bishop. Tiffany Dyer-Denton, Jeff Frazier, Ali Bellos, Andee Rudloff, Patricia Earnhardt, Jennifer Quigley, Asia Mathis, Raeanne Rubinstein and many more!

My sweet friend, Patrick Fleming
Patrick Fleming July 21, 1970 - September 23, 2006
I have lost a dear friend, Patrick Fleming.
Patrick and I became friends while at a summer camp for young gifted artists when we were 15 years old. We spent years as pen pals, writing and drawing and creating things for one another...trusting the mail would alter them in all of the right ways...and then safely deliver the creation to the other's doorstep.
Away at college we learned, traveled and continued to create.
Soon after graduating, Patrick began to travel the world of fashion as I painted walls and paintings.
We met celebrities, sat atop buildings in NYC, and never ran out of ways to inspire each other.
Patrick passed away in late September...it was his dear heart. I know...we will run together again someday.
I will miss his endless energy and original ideas. I will miss him dearly. Patrick's energy will continue to inspire me!
There will be a memorial service for Patrick at his apartment in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 28th from 2pm to 6pm.

JOHN HUNG HA

John Hung Ha was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and currently resides in Brooklyn,
NY. After attending Hillsboro High School in Nashville, TN, followed by
studies in Graphic Design at Memphis College of Art, John received his BFA
from Rhode Island School of Design with an emphasis in printmaking. Hung
Ha's images are created by manipulating multi-geometric color patterns to
imply space and pattern commonly seen in Op art and Asian art. There is no
shortage of energy when it comes to Hung Ha's experiences and his methods of
bridging his Eastern style of painting with Western culture.
"I am fascinated with art as a visual equivalent to energy. My rhythmic work
includes i-media prints to multimedia decoupage paintings made of oils,
acrylics, enamels, hand cut stencils, interference paint and epoxy resins."
SYDNEY REICHMAN
Ticketing Lobby
Accomplished and beloved Nashville sculptor Sydney Reichman has been
creating sculpture both regionally and nationally for over 30 years. Living
and working in a woodland setting has infused Reichman's work with a
spiritual dynamism and deep connection to her surroundings. Her ability to
shape and command copper into lyrical forms and figures allows viewers to
experience flight while staying grounded.
"There is continual tension in the pieces I create that move between the
primitive and the modern; the technical and the magical; the seeker and the
witness," Reichman shares. "With these themes a constant in my work, it is
my desire to explore the fragile and powerful landscape where humans
intersect with their environment."
BYRON JORJORIAN
Concourse C
Byron Jorjorian found a purpose in photography at an early age in rural
Mississippi. With an interest in biology and the daily routine as caretaker
to the family's animals, young Jorjorian sharpened his eye and his
appreciation of the wonders of nature. His grandfather noted his artistic
interests and gave him his first camera. Now Jorjorian has over 10,000
images published worldwide.
"The natural world is a source of fascination and inspiration to me. For me,
the camera is like a painter's brush, which I use to create my vision of
nature. My challenge is magnified when the abstract subject is nature and
the journey goes beyond its literal interpretation. The natural wonders of
Tennessee are a fountain of inspiration to me, and I still find myself in awe."
DIANE GETTY
Fine Dining Area
Maine was home to fabric artist Diane Getty until she ventured to
Albuquerque, NM, to attend the University of New Mexico. Upon completing her
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in metalwork and jewelry,
Getty continued her studies, earning her Master of Fine Arts degree at East
Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Several moves and ten years
later, Getty returned to Tennessee where she resumed her career as an
artist. She shifted her creative efforts to work in fiber art and fabric
collage.
"I am inspired by the beauty, patterns and colors of my home in the
Cumberland Plateau and I interpret what I see. I experiment with painting on
fabric, incorporating collage and stitching into my pieces," Getty explains.
It's the best of both worlds the landscape and the process of creation

Relay for Life
My brother's wish was answered by many during the Relay for Life June 2nd and 3rd in Bowling Green, KY. Thank you so very much for your support and donations!
My mom, Rita Rudloff, is almost a one year survivor of brain lymphoma and was able to attend the opening ceremony!
The team won a 2006 Spirit Award!!! The team also received much praise for a large painting of Dr. Seuss thay had...hhhmmm, wonder who did that?
My brother's letter is below:
Dear Friends,
As many of you know, our family has had the challenge of helping my mother as she battled cancer. After spending several months taking my mother from test to test, she was diagnosed with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma right before Thanksgiving of 2005. Our family really pulled together throughout those many difficult months. Through wonderful doctors, my mother's tremendous WILL, family strength, and the grace of God, her cancer is considered in remission. My mother did undergo intense chemotherapy at Vanderbilt Medical Center throughout the winter months and is still recovering from the effects. We wait and wonder, if it will return. It is a numbing feeling.
This experience has made my wife Melissa and me keenly aware of how many people are affected by cancer. As a result, we decided to be proactive and support our community by participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life event. The American Cancer Society (ACS) funds more than $100 million dollars of cancer research a year. We want to help them fight cancer and raise awareness about cancer prevention.
On June 2, at Bowling Green High School, in Bowling Green, KY; we will join our other team members from the Bowling Green Christian Church and the community to walk from sun-down to sun-up in an overnight celebration of life and cancer survivorship in honor of my mother and the many others who have battled this devastating disease. We invite you to support our team.
Please consider giving a gift to the American Cancer Society, through our team here in Warren County, KY. Our team is striving to raise $2500 to help meet the local goal of $170,000. All donations are tax-deductible. Please consider giving whatever you can to help others fight the battle of cancer. Your checks can be made out to American Cancer Society and need to be returned to the address below no later than Monday, May 22.
Thank you in advance for your generous support.

West Tennessee Regional Art Center - Juror
Juror and Honorees announced for the West Tennessee Regional Art Center's Invitational Art Exhibition
A month-long exhibition of works by area and regional artists has been an official event of the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival since 2001.
Beginning this year, the show honors five carefully-chosen West Tennessee artists. Honorees have been invited to display a choice sampling of their very best works. An expert in the field will select the one exhibited work deemed to best exemplify superlative achievement in the visual arts. The winner of The Grand Award of the 2006 Strawberry Festival's WTRAC Invitational Art Exhibition will receive a $500 cash award. The 2006 Grand Award is generously sponsored by Humboldt Utilities. Juror for the 2006 invitational exhibition is Andee Rudloff, professional artist as well as curator at the Nashville International Airport.
As curator, Rudloff plans and coordinates all programs related to the airport's public art projects, including the oversight of the permanent art collection and music performances. Her schedule is also very busy with painting and mural projects, teaching and event coordinating. In 2005, Rudloff curated and coordinated the Sarratt Gallery/Vanderbilt University "At Home on Tour" exhibition. She also served as a handler and conservator at the Newport Beach Art Museum and the Laguna Beach Art Museum in California. She's a native of Bowling Green, Ky.
The following artists are being honored at the exhibition: Lee Benson, Peggy King, Libby Lynch, Lendon Noe, and Janice Sumler. Benson is a Professor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics at Union University in Jackson. King is a retired art instructor and administrator from Martin, Tennessee. Lynch is a high school art instructor at the University School of Jackson. Noe is a Professor of Art at Lambuth University in Jackson. Sumler is a professional watercolorist who teaches painting classes and workshops in Jackson/West Tennessee.
Make plans to attend the opening reception on Sunday, May 7, 2006, from 2-4pm in the Upstairs Gallery of WTRAC, 1200 Main Street, Humboldt. Come early to preview the works on display and stay to experience the excitement as The Grand Award winner for 2006 is announced!
