2018: New Initiatives and Thankful Journeys

2018 has been an exciting year and a year without breaks...buckle and hold on for the ride.

Andee started the year at Memorial Elementary in Hardyville, Kentucky, supported by VSA Kentucky. Andee worked with students and educators  completing several murals with plans to go back and do more in 2019. She was selected by Timeslips: I Won't Grow Up (IWGU) as an artist in residence for Region One.  IWGU is a two year effort with Signature Homes working in rural Kentucky communities of care to establish opportunities for imagination through art making...much more to come here as the conversation grows! A quick introduction here. Quickly, Andee's year had her on the road and in planes including an exciting residency in Magdeburg, Germany, supported by Sister Cities of Nashville. Things never slowed down with murals all over Kentucky including Jamestown, Hindman, Bowling Green, Morgantown, Russell Sprints, Franklin and more projects inside private businesses and homes. This fall, Andee enjoyed working with SOLO Cup and the Piligrimage Festival this fall creating a mural made of solo cups for musician Elle King. She was also happy to work with HCA Foundation and Walk Bike Nashville painting a mobile unit used to increase bicycle use in Nashville, TN. This past week, Sister Cities of Nashville welcomed two German artists and one artist from Argentina and Andee has been collaborating with them on paintings and murals in Nashville. Lots of exciting things yet to come in 2018!

Andee is very happy to share she will not only be assisting SKyPAC with 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing again from December-February, but will also serve as curator at the SKyPAC Galleries in 2019! More details and exhibit announcements to come! theskypac.com
